A stunning copy of a Gibson Thunderbird Non-Reverse. Beautiful low action, fat and warm vintage tone. I’ve owned it for over 10 years, and it’s wonderfully broken in.
Long scale.
- Body: Mahogany
- Neck: Mahogany, set neck
- Fretboard: Rosewood
- Finish: Original poly finish removed and refinished in nitro
- Pickups: Barfuss Thunderbird humbuckers, wound like vintage Gibson humbuckers. They sound like a mix between a humbucker and a single coil – no unwanted noise.
The original electronics have been replaced with high-quality US CTS pots, an Orange Drop capacitor, and vintage cloth wiring.
The brand name on the truss rod cover has been obscured in the photos, as it is from an original Gibson.
Pickguard and thumb rest are custom one-off pieces.
The original plastic nut was replaced by a custom-made bone nut by a luthier.
Original tuners were swapped for high-quality, heavier US vintage tuners.
