Melody Junior Banjo Ukulele 1936 circa Brown varnish

Although not a Formby branded item, George Formby was a veritable star of stage and screen in England and his preferred instrument was the Banjo Ukulele, or Banjolele as it was sometimes called. 
We heard that Brad Pitt is / was doing a movie about this entertainer, if so interest in this kind of instrument is bound to accelerate violently, particularly if it is English. 
This example is a treasure and plays and sounds wonderful.
The decal on the headstock tells us it has been in Melbourne all of its life, it is from a music store in Elizabeth Street Melbourne called Sutton’s - they ceased trading in 1978.
