For sale a mid 80s AS-2100 in great shape with original hard case. This one sounds great and plays great too. The 25" scale and ebony board play true up and down the neck with no buzzing. Pick ups sound great and have the Yamaha push push tone pots for coil tap single coil tones. These are getting harder to find because no one wants to get rid of them, they are that good! This guitar is like a 355 with coil taps, I think every bit as good as Gibson counterparts. The 2100 I think is Birch top and back where the 2200 is maple. Neck is mahogany with ebony FB. The nut spacing is very comfortable at 1 & 23/32'. Nice and wide and the neck back is on the thin side like some early 60s 335 Gibson's were. Very fast easy to play neck. This one belonged to my friend and jazz great Sheryl Bailey. I played some duo gigs with her in the early 90s and this was her guitar for what it's worth. I does say made in Taiwan on the back head between the tuners that say Japan. Had read Yamaha plant in Taiwan was for high end models also made in Japan. This is not a made in China cheap copy... USA only shipping!
