Since focusing more on electronic music, this mic has had less use. It was truly fab on baritone singing voices and great for broadcast speech / classic radio voice. The switchable response characteristic makes it very versatile. Note: This mic features a lower noise floor than the other Peluso 2247s (SE / LE) currently still available.Sold complete and fully functional with original glass triode tube installed. Some wear and tear on the case from being moved around. This model is no longer in production. Relatively rare and hard to find.I hope it can find a good home. Will be sent well packaged with full insurance, or can be tested and picked up directly in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg.Details:The Peluso Microphone Lab 22 47 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone styled after the legendary Neumann U 47. German radio engineers in the 1970s needed to lower the noise floor of their trusted U 47 microphones to conform to broadcast standards of the day. To achieve this, the microphones were re-wired to employ the new glass 6072A tube. The Peluso 22 47 uses this glass triode tube achieve its high gain and low noise floor. The capsule, components and transformer are the same as those found in Peluso's steel tube 22 47 models. While many seek out the musical second harmonic content found in the steel tube mic, others prefer the cleaner and slightly quieter quality of the glass 6072A tube found in this 22 47 (short-body) model. The 22 47 is paired with the Peluso MX-56 power supply. The dual sided capsule in the 22 47 enable the power supply to feature 9 polar patterns in an array from omni-directional to cardioid to figure eight. The 22 47 features a heavy-duty 8-pin screw on cable connector. The large diameter pins in the screw on connector give a tight and secure cable connection designed to perform for a lifetime of use.
