Overview
The Neumann M 150 is an omnidirectional condenser microphone designed for distant/ambient pickup with small diaphragm capsule in a spherical housing. The design tips its proverbial hat to the classic M 50, but with significant differences in design and construction.
As is the case with the M 149 and M 147 microphones, the M 150 uses a tube stage for "coloration" (dual triode model 6111, "military-grade") followed by transformerless op-amp output stage. The M 150's capsule uses a titanium diaphragm inside a hollow plastic sphere, rather than the M 50's aluminum or mylar diaphragm inside a solid acrylic sphere.
Pricing here reflects a factory matched pair of Neumann M 150.
