About this listing
Here for sale we have a Gibson SG Special in Fireburst finish. Made in the USA in 2015, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck and 22 Medium Jumbo fret unbound Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is equipped with a set of Grover Deluxe tuning machines and a Satin Nickel Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. The pickups are a pair of Gibson ’61 Zebra humbuckers that are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, bridge volume, bridge tone, neck volume and a neck tone control. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the ‘Slim Taper’ profile feeling slim in the hand, promoting ergonomic thumb position and providing an articulate playing experience. The traditional 12" fingerboard radius strikes the perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and smooth lead lines, making for a truly authentic yet refined SG playing experience, whilst the wider fingerboard and brass adjustable nut increases the playing area while still retaining the original string spacing. The Gibson ’61 Zebra humbucker in the neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. The Gibson ’61 Zebra humbucker in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output, providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips. This guitar truly is a fantastic celebration of its inventor's 100th birthday.Brand - GibsonModel - SG SpecialYear - 2015Finish - FireburstMade In - USABody - MahoganyNeck - MahoganyNeck Profile - Slim TaperFingerboard - RosewoodFingerboard Radius - 12”Frets - 24, Medium JumboScale Length - 24.75”Nut Width - 1.636” at the end of the string slots - 1.795” at the end of the fretboardPickups - 2 x Gibson ’61 Zebra humbuckersControls - 3-Way selector switch, bridge volume, bridge tone, neck volume, neck toneLuthier ReportOur ID: 1011026246480Weight: 6.8lbs Serial: 150017911Aesthetic Condition:Headstock: Overall very good condition.
