A 2016 Standard Historic 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue has arrived. Although the Historic Collection was discontinued in 2014 with the introduction of the True Historic line, the gStandard Historich was launched in 2016, carrying on the specifications of its predecessor. Its appeal lies in popular specifications that remain relevant today, such as the use of hide glue for the fingerboard and neck joint as well as the neck-to-body joint, long studs on the tailpiece, a tubeless truss rod, and Custom Buckers (potted). The model wefve received is the R7, featuring a cool gAntique Goldh finish. The neck feels slightly thicker than that of current models. Weighing in at 3.65 kg, this is a fairly lightweight instrument; when light is shone on the top, you can faintly make out the flame grain through the finish. There are scattered scratches and minor marks on the body, and a pick mark is visible on the 6th-string side of the neck pickup mounting ring. While there are signs of use as described above, there is no major damage. The neck is in good condition, and there is plenty of play left in the truss rod. There are some wear marks from fingering on the lower frets, but they do not interfere with playing, and there is still plenty of fret height remaining. Since there are currently no Core models with a gloss-finished gold top, this is a great opportunity for anyone looking for one. It comes with the original brown case, certificate of authenticity, backplate (plain), tags, and case key.
