About this listing
This Gibson Custom Shop J-45 takes the legendary “Workhorse” formula and dresses it up with a particularly desirable selection of tonewoods. Featuring a Red Spruce (Adirondack) top paired with premium Mahogany back and sides, this is a powerful, lively J-45 with excellent projection, warmth, and that unmistakable dry, woody Gibson character.Red Spruce is especially prized for its headroom and responsiveness…the guitar can be played softly and remain articulate, but really opens up when pushed with a pick. Combined with the premium Mahogany back and sides, it delivers a strong fundamental, warm midrange, punchy low end, and plenty of clarity without losing the classic J-45 thump. This example has been played and enjoyed, and shows signs of light honest play wear consistent with normal use. Nothing that takes away from the overall presentation; rather, it looks like a quality acoustic that hasn’t spent its entire life sitting untouched in a case. It’s also ready for the stage. A pickup has been professionally installed, allowing the guitar to be plugged directly into an amplifier, PA, or recording setup while retaining its usefulness as a traditional acoustic.Highlights:Gibson Custom Shop J-45Red Spruce / Adirondack Spruce topPremium Mahogany back and sidesClassic round-shoulder J-45 bodyWarm, woody midrange with excellent projection and headroomPickup installed – fully acoustic/electric capableLight play wear from normal useA fantastic combination of vintage-inspired J-45 tone and modern stage practicalityA beautiful Custom Shop take on one of Gibson’s most iconic acoustics, premium woods, big J-45 character, and already equipped to go straight from the living room to the stage.
