The authentic Heavy Relic treatment, thin nitrocellulose lacquer, and aged hardware finish give the guitar a remarkably convincing vintage appearance and a fantastic playing feel.The select alder body and rift-sawn maple neck feature superb craftsmanship. "Rift-sawn" refers to the way the maple for the neck is cut; the Fender Custom Shop frequently uses this method to produce a stable neck with a distinctive, straight grain pattern. The rosewood fretboard features a modern 9.5" radius, 21 medium frets, and a very comfortably proportioned '63 C-shape neck profile.Three Fender Custom Shop Hand-Wound Fat '50s single-coil pickups deliver the classic Fender sound.
