The Beyerdynamic MM 1 Measurement Microphone is designed specifically for measuring sound reinforcement and PA systems. Ideal for spectrum analyzers allowing frequency response and sound pressure levels of speakers to be monitored, the compact MM1 can be mounted unobtrusively.
The MM 1 measurement microphone can be used anywhere that requires precise results. Featuring an omnidirectional polar pattern, this microphone is ideal for measuring studio spaces, PA systems and sound reinforcement systems. When used in combination with a spectrum analyser, it can monitor not only frequency response measurements, but also the sound pressure level of speakers. The MM 1 also provides a valuable service when it comes to measuring audio signals for research, development, and industry.
Strictly accurateThe MM 1 boasts impressively high measurement precision – both live and in the studio. We manufacture these microphones within an extremely narrow tolerance with a deviation of +/- 1.5 dB between 50 Hz and 16 kHz. This is made possible by our specialists checking the frequency response of each individual microphone by hand.
It’s what’s insidethat countsA high-quality back electret condenser capsule serves as pressure receiver in the MM 1. The microphone is diffuse field calibrated and demonstrates a linear frequency response at 90°. This makes it easy to measure studio spaces, for example, without the need for too much preparation.

Form follows functionThe MM 1’s shape was designed to deliver exact measurement results. Thanks to the narrow solid metal housing with recessed microphone capsule, the construction has very little impact on the sound field. This means that an increase in sound pressure at high frequencies can be largely avoided. The lightweight, compact microphone is also easy to position. This classic microphone now comes safely stored in a sturdy hard case.
