About this listing
Hello all! This listing is for a first gen Discrete 4. This thing was great back when I purchased it, however, it doesn’t like working with my modern updated MacBook Pro. I bought the full plugin pack at the time as well, which I can transfer to you as well (If antelope will allow it, that’s is). The preamps are excellent and probably my favorite aspect about it, including the preamp emulation (and the assortment of other plugins) you can add in to be applied while tracking. The preamps can also also be routed to be sent directly out of the adat/spdif/analog outs if you wanted to just use this as a standalone extra 4 mic preamps with an existing system. There is wordclock connections to connect to other systems if you want to send digitally. If you are successful in getting the entire unit to work on an older machine, then you can also benefit from there being 4 separate headphone outs. At the time I thought this could be a perfect podcasting interface with 4 mic ins and 4 headphone outs. With plenty of clean gain to run the ol SM7b mics. Due to this unit’s software not working with newer devices, and can’t guarantee if this will play nice with your system, I’m selling this as-is. Happy to answer any questions about it before though. Antelope can be a bit silly with their firmware and support, but I do still use my ZenQ without issues, as it’s a newer interface. This unit will come with the power cable and also I should still have the thunderbolt cable nearby to include as well. It won’t come with a usb cable, though it takes a standard A to B. I used it with the thunderbolt cable primarily to use Antelopes “Afx to DAW” option. Which allows you to use the plugins from the hardware itself, inside your Daw like a plugin.
