The MXR EVH Modern High Gain pedal was developed in 2015 in close collaboration with Eddie Van Halen and delivers an uncompromising high-gain sound with tremendous punch. The sound can be precisely adjusted using the Gain and Output controls, as well as an active 3-band EQ , enabling everything from rich rhythm tones to singing lead passages with plenty of sustain. A Boost switch provides an additional gain reserve for solos when needed, whilst the 55 Hz/80 Hz switch lets you choose between a rich or tighter bass foundation. The features are rounded off by an integrated noise gate, which ensures a controlled, low-noise signal even at high gain settings, making the EVH Modern High Gain Pedal a versatile tool for modern rock and metal sounds.
