Assembled from parts of three different vintage Strats, Blackie accompanied the master on tour and in the studio for decades. In 2004, it was auctioned off for the staggering sum of $959,000 to benefit Clapton’s Crossroads Center. Before it went to its new owner, however, it made a stop at the Fender Custom Shop. There, Blackie was meticulously analyzed and measured to enable an exclusive reissue: the Blackie Tribute Stratocaster, which was released in 2006 in a limited edition of 275 pieces. Of these, only 90 left the U.S., and we’re thrilled to offer you the one with serial number YS461. Built by master builder Yuriy Shishkov, the guitar features all the specifications and signs of wear found on the original—from the chipped paint on the body to the discoloration on the fretboard and the cigarette burn marks on the headstock. The precisely reproduced V-neck profile and custom-wound pickups ensure that you get the exact feel and sound of the original. It also comes with a replica of the original Duck Bros flight case and the complete set of accessories and documentation.
