1975 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass in Mapleglo finish, made in December 1975.

I am selling my vintage Rickenbacker 4001 bass from my private collection. The serial number is OL8423, which dates the instrument to December 1975.

The bass is finished in original Mapleglo and has the classic 4001 look and sound: maple body and neck-through construction, triangle inlays, white pickguard, chrome hardware and the unmistakable Rickenbacker tone.

The bass is mostly original. One potentiometer has been replaced — the upper control closest to the pickups — and one stereo output jack has also been replaced. The original potentiometer and the original jack are included in the sale.

Apart from these two parts, the bass is original to the best of my knowledge. The finish, pickups, bridge/tailpiece, tuners, pickguard, frets and main hardware are original.

The neck is straight, the truss rods work correctly, the action is comfortable and the bass plays very well. There is no fret buzz, no dead spots, and the bass intonates properly.

Both pickups work correctly, the controls are quiet, the pickup selector works as it should, the regular output works, and the Rick-O-Sound/stereo output works as well.

The original frets and fingerboard are in very good condition.

The weight is approximately 4.10 kg.

There is visible cosmetic wear, patina, small marks and signs of use, as expected on a vintage instrument from 1975. At some point, a previous owner made an additional hole on the back of the body for a strap button. This can be seen clearly in the photos.

There are no structural repairs, no refinishing and no overspray to my knowledge.

No original case is included. A non-original gig bag is included.

Please check all photos carefully, as they are part of the description. I can provide additional photos if needed.
