Made in Korea.
Previous owner bought 2, put this in the closet and never took it out. And I believe it. It is in like-new condition.
Highly flamed maple top and beautiful maple back, highlighted by the striking wine-red finish. Not sure that flame comes through in the pictures, but it is the real deal.
Plays like new because it is virtually new.
Gold hardware shows expected patina. I polished the pickups and stop bar but left the remaining hardware with the patina because it actually looks pretty awesome. Especially the bridge.
I don't know what the happened with the OHSC. I picked up a real nice Epiphone Jim James signature case with a sweet Owl logo and matching gold hardware. High-quality case for a guitar that deserves it.
The tone? Oh, that sweet, sweet, 335 humbucker tone. Epiphone put some really nice pickups in this one.
Korean Epiphones from this time period are held in high regard and, in my experience the modern Chinese examples do not compare.
You won't regret taking this one home, I can assure you that.
Cheers!
