Frap Tools Magnolia

Magnolia features eight analog voices with two oscillators (carrier and modulator) and two filters (high-pass and low-pass). Like any flagship contemporary synthesizer, it sports a fatar keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch capabilities.

Linear FM all over the place

The carrier oscillator has through-zero core for precise, sideband-rich analog FM sounds. From crystal-like pads to growling basses, Magnolia has it all. And you can also FM the filter!

Wave shapers, Wavefolders, and other West Coast sounds

Sculpt sounds preciously unheard among analog polysynths thanks to Magnolia’s unique signal flow, which features continuously variable waveform shapes and a wave folder circuit per voice!

Modular Ancestors

Inside Magnolia, you’ll find Frap Tools’ unique modular soul: the oscillators derive from the Brenso, and the filter derives from the Cunsa.

Each voice has two very different oscillators: oscillator 1 is the “west coast” one, with FM. wavefolder, and flip sync; oscillator 2 is the “east coast“ one, with PWM and fine-tune. Whether you want experimental FM sounds or classic punchy synth brass sounds, they are at your service.

Intuitive modulation routing

Push a button, rotate a knob, and that’s how you assign a modulation. Keep track of what modulates what through specific LEDs, and switch modulations on and off through the Toggle function.
