Universal Audio UAFX LA-2A Teletronix LA-2A Studio Compressor

Vintage Tube Optical Studio Compressor

Universal Audio UAFX LA-2A brings the unmistakable sound of the legendary Teletronix LA-2A Studio Compressor to your pedalboard. One of the most iconic tube optical compressors ever made, it is recreated here through an extremely accurate emulation designed to match the original hand-wired hardware. The result is natural dynamic control, musical sustain, and a uniquely three-dimensional character.

Perfect for guitar, bass, synths, and keyboards, the UAFX LA-2A enhances any sound source, making notes more present, defined, and musical. The complete emulation of vintage transformers, tube circuitry, and the historic T4 optical cell delivers the depth, warmth, and dynamic response that made the original a studio standard for decades.

Even with no compression applied, the pedal adds the harmonic richness of a true tube circuit, easily pushing an already warm amplifier into rich, creamy, and natural overdrive.

Compact yet extremely rugged, the UAFX LA-2A is designed for professional pedalboard use, featuring selectable True/Buffered bypass, a Stock/Fast switch for faster attack times, and a Mix control for simple and effective parallel compression.
