New photos! I have installed the Handel tuners. No extra charge for these!
For your consideration is a lovely 1913 Gibson mandolin.
This has been completely gone over by my luthier and is in top notch playing condition.

I have owned perhaps 100+ F4’s over the years and can confirm that this one is well above average. It has a big, round tone, lots of volume and no hint of that tubby or hollow sound that some display.
No cracks or seam separations, lovely figured maple on the rims and back, with a natural top that is common for this year. The top displays the wide grain pattern which results in a big sound with lovely tone.
Excellent original case. I’ve repaired the lid stops and also added proper colour ribbons as per original. I’ve also installed an original vintage case handle.
Fingerboard has been planed flat, removing divots from 112 years of playing and refretted with period correct wire. This thing plays perfectly.
Pickguard itself is a reproduction, but the celluloid mounting bracket and clamp came from my parts drawer. Nut was also replaced to facilitate perfect playability.
The F4 came to me with no tuners, but I had a set of correct ones here. However, those in the know will understand that this F4 should have the inlaid Handel tuners. You will see in the last photo that I have since been able to source a pair, and for an additional $300 I will install them and send it to you with all completely correct hardware.
If you are interested in a wonderful F4 from the height of mandolin manufacturing in America, I can give this one my highest recommendation.
Shipping is from Canada. For American customers understand there is zero cost incurred by you, but some extra documentation and cost is necessary on my part. Buy with confidence.
