This guitar comes from a Very Important Collection – Selling for a friend of mine...
Stunning Guild X-500 manufactured in Westerly, Rhode Island, USA in 1988.
MUSEUM CONDITION – COLLECTORS GRADE!!!
I have NEVER seen one in such condition – despite the fact that this beautiful lady is almost forty years old, she looks like she just left the factory a few months ago...
The guitar is totally MINT in every discernible way. Only on the pickup covers the gold finish plating is slightly worn (Guilds are notorious for having an even thinner gold plating than other brands). All other gold parts are MINT !!!
Superb quality in every detail, stunning sounding professional instrument and proverbial playability.
This Guild X-500 has a beautiful bound ebony fretboard and magnificent mother of pearl and abalone inlays. They are perfectly installed and contrast beautifully with the utterly black fretboard.
The neck is perfectly straight and shows no sign of needing any work, whatsoever. A typical finish crack along both sides of the nut joint that separates the fretboard and the binding from the guitar neck very common on vintage X-500s. You guys better than me know this type of crack is the result of temperature fluctuations over the years and/or humidity in relation to the rigidity of the nitro finish. So please, do not call it a “issue”.
That’s all. As I wrote, this is the most beautiful X-500 I’ve ever seen, just like a brand new one, but already 37 y.o.
No doubt the next owner will be very grateful to me!
Photos are an integral part of the description. Take your time to look at them, because they speak better than any words. I got more than 40 HD photos; every single detail has been captured. Do not hesitate to contact me, I’ll be happy to show you all of them !
