Typical and VERY COOL example of japanese over engineering !!
Ordinary Leslie speakers use rotating drum for bass and rotating horn for treble speaker,
but the speakers are firmly fixed in the cabinet.
Yamaha have a fixed bass/midrange speaker without the rotor drum,
and a midrange/treble speaker that rotates.
This solution requires a counterweight to balance the rotating rectangular polystyrene speaker.
It has ball bearings, and motor coals like on an electric motor, to power the speaker.
It was made as an organ amp, and that's why the controls are located on the rear,
so that the organ player can control the amp facing the audience.
Tech info:
70 watt transistor amp.
Yamaha JA-3852 , 1 x 15" round cone speaker, 70 watt , 8 ohms
Yamaha JA-1701B , rectangular polystyrene speaker , 8 ohms ,
used in rotor unit powered by Electric motor for rotation.
real old school spring reverb unit.
controls for : hi/lo inputs , volume , bass , treble , reverb , remote jack , tremolo (rotor) speed ,
fuses , power indicator , on/off switch.
VERY cool for guitars too !!
2 switch remote footswitch for "normal" sound or rotor sound.
The second switch changes from "idle speed" to the maximum speed set on the Tremolo control.

RA-70r
RA-100
RA-200(r) this type of amp was used by David Gilmour
