Mosrite 63 Ventures Model Sunburst [SN 63157] [10/11]

1993, USA made '63 style Ventures model in stock!

Basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard. This 1963 reissue model features cell binding on the body, output jacks set on the side, and set neck construction. It is equipped with the synonymous VIBRAMUTE unit, roller bridge, zero frets, chrome brass nut, and high-output original pickups.

The body has wipe scratches, scuffs, line scratches, dents, and paint deterioration. The pickguard has minor scratches and there are small dings and scuffs on the left side of the front PU. The lower left portion of the body top is dotted with large and small dents, and the paint is lightly peeling and deteriorated. There are paint gaps on each binding. The binding inside the 6th string cutaway is lightly cracked, and the binding at the end of the body is broken and has been glued back together. The binding on the inside of the 6th string cutaway has also been glued back together. The lower left side of the body has some dents, peeling paint, and deterioration. There are some scuff marks on the body back where the horns have been signed, and there is some deterioration around the perimeter of the body. There are also some large and small dents scattered on the body back. The back of the neck has a rough feel from the reaction with the case lining near the 4th floor. There are also scuff marks on the back of the head where a signature has been scraped off. The neck binding area also has minor cracks due to age, but there are no problems with use. There are marks of clip tuners on the tip of the head top. There are some scratches and deterioration of the plating on the hardware, but they do not affect the operation of the instrument. The jack plate has a crack, but it is not a problem for use.

The neck is in good condition. The truss rod can be adjusted to tighten or loosen, and can still be turned to tighten and adjust. There are no string marks on the frets and about 40% of the frets are left (the mozzite is originally low). Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.

Overall, there are some signs of use, paint deterioration, signature scuff marks, and age-related changes to the binding, but there are no problems with the playing itself. The electrical system has been finished with CTS and Switchcraft, and the lacquer finish gives it a USA-made feel. The head has the Ventures logo, which is a nice touch for fans of the Ventures model, as shown on the certificate. There are some signatures on the head, but they are not visible from the front, and they are reflected in the selling price. If you are not satisfied with domestic models, this is one you should definitely try!
