1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom Lite Showcase Edition Goldtop

1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom Lite Showcase Edition.

Excellent guitar, less than 8lbs, goldtop with natural mahogany back.  Original EMG pickups were swapped out for Seymour Duncan's at some point prior to my owning it.  Quite a bit of finish checking on the top and a few blemishes on the body and a ding or two on the headstock (please see photos).

Some say there were 25 of the Goldtops produced, some say there were 250 of the Showcase Editions produced (among all colors), the included certificate says there were 9 models made that equalled a total of 200 guitars which implies 22ish? produced, and I'm being told by another member here there are 200 of each model.  I have no idea what's true and have honestly never cared much about Gibson's limited numbers.  I say it's a very cool, light-weight player that is both very familiar and unique at the same time.  

Pickups are a pair of SH10 Full Shreds.  Unlike their name, they're versatile and sound great for a wide variety of styles, and sound great in the thinner-than-normal mahogany "Lite" body.

Ships in OHSC (chainsaw/protector) that has some scratching on the top and is missing the Gibson plate.  I'm assuming the case had a keeper strap that prevented it from opening more than 90 degrees like most do, but if it did, it's long gone.  All latches are functional.
