Incredibly rare 60s or 70s, British made analogue frequency and phase shifter, presumably for broadcast use? Same principle as a Bode Frequency Shifter. We've only seen two of these in the past 15-20 years.

Uses the same principle as units like the legendary (and even rarer) Bode frequency shifter. Ostensibly for "Howl Reduction" but capable of some very interesting effects. Essentially, unlike a pitch shifter, a frequency shifter does not preserve the harmonic relationships in the input signal. In practice this means the output quickly starts to deviate from what is going in and extra tones are added which then interact and interfere with the source producing new harmonics and drones. As you can perhaps imagine this is what we like about these units, and why we've had one in the studio for years...

Condition: In generally very good condition for it's age. There is some wear to the faceplate mostly around the edges and corners. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information on condition.

Voltage: 220/240v unit. A step-up transformer will be required for use on 110/120v supplies. Please ask if you need advice on what to use. We do not recommend using cheap, generic Chinese mains transformers.
