They don’t come much filthier than this one. Absolutely brutal tones from this distortion pedal!’ ~ Justin Brand NRSIX

‘Didn't expect Stepping Razor to be this versatile.’ ~ Pedals and Tea

‘With the clean blend, this is magic for bass and synth... It's outstanding on guitar as well.’ ~ Boring Gear Reviews

Stepping Razor is a distortion pedal. Our take on the classic rodent-themed circuit comes with several twists, among which are a parallel clean blend and three clipping modes.

In addition to the loud and mean distortion this circuit is known for, Stepping Razor features a fuller low end, making it ideal for playing heavier music genres. Pushed to its extreme, it crushes the signal like there’s no tomorrow, but we’ve made sure its control is flexible enough for the pedal to be used as a transparent overdrive unit as well.

Stepping Razor was built with bass players in mind, especially due to its parallel clean blend. However, just like anything Dronechov Noise Machines, it's equally excellent when used on guitar, especially if you like to tune low (and play slow).

Controls:

Gain – Controls the amount of distortion.

Volume – Controls the overall output level (except the clean signal).

Tone – Turn counter-clockwise for more treble, and clockwise for less.

Blend – Controls the clean signal level, which is mixed with the distortion in parallel. When turned all the way up, the clean signal is slightly boosted.

Clip Toggle – Switches between three clipping options:

  • Sym – Symmetrical Silicon
  • Middle – No clipping (Op-Amp distortion)
  • Asym – Asymmetrical Silicon/MOSFET/LED
