The SME M2-9 is a precision 9-inch tonearm from one of the most respected names in analog audio. Designed and manufactured in England, the M2-9 combines SME's renowned mechanical precision with a versatile design suitable for a wide range of modern moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges.

This particular M2-9 is BRAND NEW and has never been used. It is not factory sealed, but it has not been installed or used on a turntable. The original SME box, mounting template, alignment protractor and owner's manual are included, along with the associated mounting hardware and accessories.

The M2-9 features a lightweight, internally damped stainless-steel tonearm tube, precision ball-race bearings and a detachable magnesium headshell with adjustable azimuth. Its tungsten balance weight and precision tracking-force adjustment allow for accurate cartridge setup, while the arm's adjustable height provides flexibility when optimizing VTA for different cartridges.

With an effective mass of approximately 9.5 grams and a cartridge balance range of approximately 5–12 grams, the M2-9 is designed to work with a broad range of cartridges, including medium- and low-compliance designs.
