Introduced in 2003, the VariOS was one of Roland’s most ambitious digital instruments of its generation — a dedicated hardware platform built around Roland’s remarkable VariPhrase technology.

Unlike conventional sampling, VariPhrase technology makes it possible to manipulate pitch, time and formant independently, opening up extraordinary possibilities for transforming vocals, instruments, loops and complete musical phrases.
