When it was introduced at the 1954 NAMM in Chicago, the Gretsch White Falcon broke ranks with the understated sunburst guitars of the time with primo appointments and a stunning white finish that earned the nickname "The Cadillac of guitars." Conceived as a one-off dream by master Gretsch designer Jimmie Webster, the White Falcon became a flagship hollow body for the company's roster and one of the models most closely associated with the hot, pure tone of Filter'Tron and TV Jones pickups. Ranging from faithful recreations of the original to new semi-hollow thinline and center block models, today's White Falcons offer a wider world of tone while retaining the soul of what made the original such a hit.
