About this listing
Strymon Flint: Tremolo and Reverb, the Perfect Marriage
The magical combination of tremolo and reverb is the earliest example of a perfect guitar effects marriage. It first appeared in historic amplifiers of the 1960s and has since landed on countless records, from early surf, swampy bayou blues, spaghetti westerns, and film noir soundtracks to modern indie rock. Flint is a studio-class pedal that delivers this classic pairing. It’s essentially two pedals in one, with tremolo on one half and reverb on the other, built from carefully studied classic circuits and hand-crafted algorithms that account for every detail.
Three Tremolos, Three Reverbs
On the tremolo side, choose between the sonically complex ‘61 Harmonic Tremolo, the swampy and sultry ‘63 Power Tube Tremolo, and the sharp, balanced ‘65 Photocell Tremolo. On the reverb side, you get the classic ’60s Spring Tank, the inventive ’70s Electronic Plate, and the nostalgic ’80s Hall Rack. Nine parameters give you extensive control, so you can go from splashy, pulsing twang to throbbing swampy blues to ambient, trembling, serene pads. Dedicated footswitches let you turn the reverb and tremolo on and off independently.
Vintage Sound, New Features
Full MIDI implementation lets you control nearly every switch, knob, and setting remotely, with 300 preset locations and MIDI Clock Sync for tremolo speed that can be saved per preset. A premium analog JFET input keeps it responsive to your playing, a rear panel switch selects mono or stereo input, and a new ARM DSP chip adds processing power while using less energy on your pedalboard. The Speed knob now slows the tremolo to nearly 1Hz, and the reverb’s pre-delay is adjustable. With true bypass and a premium analog front end and output section, you get the history of tremolo and reverb in a pedalboard friendly package, designed and built in the USA.
