This version of his vintage Distortion+ incorporates the sound of the original, which the MXR design team studied after 42 years. For the first time in 42 years, the Rhoads family unveiled Randy's pedalboard to the MXR design team at the family's music school in Los Angeles, the Musonia School of Music. History was made there: the MXR team carefully opened the pedalboard, examining and documenting every detail of this authentic rock relic. The engineers meticulously recreated the specifications of Randy's vintage Distortion+, with the direct involvement of his sister, Kathy Rhoads, creating this signature model capable of producing the same distorted tones heard on Randy's most beloved songs. Inspired by a supersonic plane he rode on a tour with Ozzy Osbourne, Randy designed a Flying V-style guitar, complete with a white finish and decorative line.
