The MXL V900 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone with fixed cardioid polar pattern. The capsule is quite unusual in that it is skinned with a 12 micron diaphragm, which is about twice the thickness of MXL and most companies' other large diaphragms. The V900 features an integral yoke mount for easier positioning.
