About this listing
The McIntosh MR74 is one of those tuners that makes FM radio feel like a genuine event — composed, authoritative, and generously analog in a way that reminds you why broadcast audio had real devotees. It pulls stations with an ease that belies its age, delivering a presentation that has warmth and body in the mids without sacrificing the airy transparency that makes a good tuner so pleasurable to just leave on. The illuminated teal-and-gold faceplate glows with quiet confidence in the dark, while the 6HU6 multipath eye tube dances its slow shadow dance. The same tuner section McIntosh used in the MX113 preamplifier — which tells you exactly how serious they were about it.S/N: AC1023
