The Ibanez RG7420EX is a no-nonsense 7-string built to meet the demands of modern metal and progressive players. As part of the legendary RG series, it carries the lineage of fast necks, aggressive tones, and sleek design into extended range territory. This isn’t just a guitar — it’s a precision tool for riffers and soloists alike who want to explore the sonic depths of a low B while maintaining clarity and control. Whether you’re chugging tight rhythms or soaring through complex lead lines, the RG7420EX gives you the tools to push boundaries.
What makes this model stand out is its careful balance between speed, stability, and tone. The ultra-slim Wizard II-7 neck profile is engineered for speed and comfort, with a smooth jatoba fretboard that invites expressive playing across all 24 jumbo frets. Paired with Ibanez’s powerful Quantum 7 pickups, this guitar delivers punchy, responsive tones that cut through the mix — ideal for everything from Djent-inspired breakdowns to articulate cleans in ambient or experimental genres.
Add in the Edge-Zero II-7 tremolo system for tuning reliability during even the most aggressive playing, and you’ve got a serious performer that’s ready for stage, studio, or bedroom woodshedding. Finished in a stealthy Black Flat, the RG7420EX looks as bold as it sounds, offering metal-ready aesthetics with precision-built performance. Available now at Haggerty’s Music.
