Overview
This short-lived Norlin-era model used the active Moog electronics from the RD Artist, employing a slightly thicker body to accommodate the internal circuitry. The SG-R1 was renamed "SG Artist" in 1981 before being quickly discontinued, and is one of the rarer models of SG ever produced.
