Created in collaboration with legendary guitarist Joe Bonamassa, the Skinnerburst Les Paul R9 VOS is a highly sought-after Custom Shop recreation inspired by Joe's iconic 1959 Les Paul. Combining historic specifications, premium craftsmanship, and stunning vintage-inspired appointments, this R9 delivers the legendary tone, sustain, and feel that have made the original '59 Les Paul one of the most coveted guitars in history.
Built with a solid Mahogany body, carved figured Maple top, and a long-tenon Mahogany neck, this Custom Shop R9 offers exceptional resonance, rich harmonic complexity, and incredible sustain. Equipped with Gibson Custom BurstBucker pickups, it delivers everything from warm, articulate cleans to thick, singing overdrive with the dynamic response players expect from a premium Historic Reissue. The VOS treatment gives the guitar an authentic aged appearance while preserving the feel of a carefully maintained vintage instrument.
Finished in the stunning Dirty Lemon Skinnerburst, this guitar showcases the classic look of a legendary late-'50s Les Paul while honoring Joe Bonamassa's famous "Skinner" burst. With its figured Maple top, vintage-style appointments, and exceptional Custom Shop craftsmanship, this is a standout example for players and collectors alike.
This guitar is all original (OG) and comes complete with its Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and Original Hardshell Case (OHSC).
Condition: 9.6/10 - Excellent. Shows light play wear and scratches on the top, light scratches on the back, and scratches on the rear cavity cover. There is one light indent on the back of the headstock, a few scratches on the lower back, one small ding near the end pin jack on the back edge, and one very light indent on the treble side of the neck below the nut. Overall, this remains a very clean and well-cared-for Custom Shop R9.
