About this listing
I am offering a Gibson J-35 Antique Natural from 2017, a crafted in Bozeman, Montana (USA), all-solid timber acoustic guitar with legendary Slope Shoulder Dreadnought body style, resonant Sitka spruce top, warm-sounding mahogany body, set mahogany neck with round neck profile and 43.8mm TUSQ nut, elegant rosewood fingerboard with shimmering mother-of-pearl dot inlays, vintage-style tuners with white buttons, as well as L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup system in a beautiful Antique Natural high-gloss nitrocellulose finish with Fire Stripe pickguard and cream binding in excellent condition, incl. black Gibson luxury hardshell case, manufacturer’s paperwork, and professional setup with 12-53 Elixir 80/20 strings.Based on the original model produced between 1936 and 1942, this J-35 carries on the legacy of the iconic Gibson Round Shoulder acoustic line. The J-35 is the direct predecessor of the J-45 (which was introduced in 1942) and is by no means a “cheaper version of the J-45,” but rather features all the specifications of the J-45: the easy-to-handle Round Shoulder body shape, a finely resonant solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany sides and back, and a laminated mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard featuring the classic dot mother-of-pearl inlays. The differences from the J-45 are, in fact, extremely subtle. For example, the J-35 features 1930s Advanced Bracing, which is exactly the same as on the “Gibson Advanced Jumbo” and harmonizes perfectly with the short 628mm scale length. In fact, this makes the J-35 sound just a touch brighter and more dynamic without sacrificing the classic J-45 punch. Furthermore, the J-35 impresses with subtle visual differences: in addition to the beautiful Antique Natural finish, the guitar features a Fire Stripe pickguard and the coveted Vintage Banner logo, which today can only be found on Custom Shop models. The fantastic woods and high-quality craftsmanship from the Gibson Bozeman workshop produce a wonderfully warm and exceptionally powerful sound, with the mids coming through particularly well. The rounded body also ensures beautiful projection and a balanced, warm tone with a subtle yet dynamic range of timbres—ideal for any kind of strumming and picking!A sound sample of this model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery. In addition, the guitar comes factory-equipped with a high-quality L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup system, ensuring a clear and authentic acoustic sound even when played live.Truly a great guitar that—typical of Gibson Montana—combines an outstanding balance of sound, playability, and aesthetics.Technical Specifications:Origin: Bozeman, MT, USAYear of Manufacture: 2017Body Shape: Round Shoulder DreadnoughtTop: Sitka spruce (solid)Bracing: 1930s Advanced X-BracingBack/Sides: Mahogany (solid)Neck: Mahogany, set-inNeck Profile: RoundFingerboard: Rosewood with mother-of-pearl dot inlaysFingerboard Radius: 12"Nut: 43.8mm, TUSQHeadstock: Black Face with vintage-style Gibson banner logoBridge: Rectangular rosewood with TUSQ saddleTuners: Vintage-style tuners with white buttonsPickup: L.R.
