The Gibson Country Western 60s Original in Antique Natural brings a celebrated 1960s-era Gibson acoustic back into the core lineup with a combination of classic styling and modern stage-ready electronics. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, it shares the broad-shouldered Hummingbird body shape while taking a cleaner visual approach of its own. For players who want a full-size Gibson capable of moving comfortably between country rhythm, rock and roll, singer-songwriter accompaniment, and fingerstyle work, the Country Western offers an appealing middle ground between vintage character and everyday versatility. A solid Sitka spruce top is paired with solid mahogany back and sides, giving the guitar a lively, balanced foundation across the bass, midrange, and treble. The spruce provides responsiveness and dynamic range, while mahogany helps keep the fundamental focused and clear. Multi-ply binding surrounds both the top and back, and the entire body is finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. The Antique Natural finish keeps the spruce top front and center and gives this version a particularly understated, traditional appearance. The mahogany neck has a comfortable Round profile and Gibson's familiar 24.75" scale length, giving the strings a relaxed feel that works well for chord-heavy accompaniment, bends, and melodic playing. Gibson joins the neck to the body with a compound dovetail joint using hot hide glue. The rosewood fingerboard has a 12" radius, 20 standard frets, single-ply binding, and mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays. A bone nut and sealed-back Gotoh tuners with white buttons provide a dependable foundation for tuning stability. Visually, the Country Western balances dressier Gibson details with a restrained natural finish. Mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown inlays dress up the headstock, while the large yellow tortoiseshell-colored Country Western pickguard gives the body much of its personality. A rosewood Belly Up bridge, bone saddle, and TUSQ bridge pins complete the traditional acoustic setup. It's a distinctive combination that looks unmistakably Gibson without simply duplicating the appointments of a J-45 or Hummingbird. The Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system handles amplification. Two lightweight, flexible sensors mount to the internal bridge plate, with each working through dedicated preamplification and EQ before being blended into a mono signal. The minimally invasive design is intended to capture the warmth, dynamics, and individual response of the guitar while leaving its unplugged character intact. Soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls remain easy to reach during a performance without adding visible electronics to the body. At Cream City Music, we're glad to see the Country Western 60s Original return as more than a nostalgia piece. Its Sitka spruce and mahogany construction, short-scale Round neck, bold period appointments, and Antique Natural finish give it plenty of old-school Gibson personality, while the HiFi DNA system makes it ready for regular stage work. For a player looking for a versatile square-shoulder Gibson with a history and identity separate from the usual suspects, the Country Western is an especially compelling choice.Specifications:- Body Shape: Hummingbird- Top Material: Sitka Spruce- Back Material: Mahogany- Side Material: Mahogany- Body Binding: Multi-Ply Top and Back- Body Finish: Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer- Color: Antique Natural- Neck Material: Mahogany- Neck Profile: Round- Neck Joint: Compound Dovetail with Hot Hide Glue- Fingerboard Material: Rosewood- Fingerboard Radius: 12"- Fingerboard Binding: Single-Ply- Scale Length: 24.75"- Nut Material: Bone- Number of Frets: 20- Frets: Standard- Fingerboard Inlays: Mother-of-Pearl Split Parallelograms- Headstock Inlays: Mother-of-Pearl Gibson Logo and Crown- Tuning Machines: Gotoh with White Buttons- Bridge: Belly Up- Bridge Material: Rosewood- Saddle Material: Bone- Bridge Pins: TUSQ- Hardware Finish: Nickel- Pickguard: Country Western, Yellow Tortoiseshell- Pickup System: Baggs HiFi DNA- Pickup Design: Dual Bridge Plate Sensors- Preamp: Baggs HiFi DNA Internal Preamp- Controls: Soundhole-Mounted Volume and Tone- Case Included: Hardshell CaseSku: OCSSCW60HFAN
