About this listing
Excellent condition, all original, with no repairs and no modifications. The checking, dings and hardware patina are Fender's Heirloom aging, done at the factory to match Mike's original. Comes with a hardshell case and the original case candy. 8 lb 14 oz.The Stories Collection Red Dog is Fender's recreation of the 1972 Telecaster Mike Campbell bought from a former guitar student in Florida, Bigsby and onboard boost already fitted. It's the guitar on "Refugee" from Damn the Torpedoes.Three pickups where a Tele usually has two: a Red Dog Telecaster single-coil at the bridge and Red Dog humbuckers in the middle and neck, on a 5-way blade. The "Destruct" button switches in a boost circuit with 34dB of gain, built for pushing the front of an amp into saturated leads. The Heirloom nitro finish in Red Dog Red is aged to match the faded Candy Apple Red of the original. The neck is one-piece maple in an early '70s "C", slim at the first fret and fuller by the 12th, with a 7.25" radius and 21 vintage frets.SPECIFICATIONSBODYBody Material: AlderBody Finish: Heirloom Nitrocellulose LacquerColor: Red Dog RedWeight: 8 lb 14 ozSerial: MC240086NECKNeck Material: 1-Piece MapleNeck Shape: '70s "C"Neck Finish: Heirloom Nitrocellulose LacquerScale Length: 25.5" (648 mm)Fingerboard Radius: 7.25" (184.1 mm)Position Inlays: Black DotNumber of Frets: 21Fret Size: VintageString Nut: BoneNut Width: 1.60" (40.6 mm)Truss Rod: Vintage-Style Butt AdjustELECTRONICSBridge Pickup: Mike Campbell Red Dog TelecasterMiddle Pickup: Mike Campbell Red Dog Middle HumbuckerNeck Pickup: Mike Campbell Red Dog Neck HumbuckerPickup Covers: Bridge: Black; Middle: Chrome; Neck: ChromeSwitching: 5-Position BladeControls: Master Volume, Master Tone, "Destruct" ButtonSpecial Electronics: "Destruct" Boost Circuit Provides 34dB of GainHARDWAREBridge: Fender/Bigsby B5 Bridge and TailpieceHardware Finish: Heirloom Nickel/ChromePickguard: 3-Ply ParchmentTuning Machines: Fender Vintage "F" StampedNeck Plate: 4-Bolt CustomCASEIncluded: Hardshell case, original case candy
