About this listing
I am offering a Fender EC Vibro Champ from 2012, a handwired in Corona, California (USA), Eric Clapton Signature Reissue tube guitar combo amp based on the '57 Champ with 5 watts of power, point-to-point wiring on eyelet board, one Groove Tubes 6V6GT power tube, two 12AX7 preamp tubes and one 5Y3GT rectifier tube, one 8" Weber Signature Special Design Alnico speaker, with two inputs (high and low), 1950s output tube bias tremolo with speed control and footswitch connection, as well as switchable power attenuator to reduce output power in a classic '50s tweed design with period-correct vintage-style brown and gold front grill cover and elegant leather carrying handle in mint condition. The EC Vibro Champ is a modern interpretation of the legendary '57 Champ, enhanced with practical features and tuned to Eric Clapton's tonal preferences. The hand-wired eyelet board construction ensures maximum signal purity, dynamic response, and the coveted open tweed sound with natural compression. The combination of a 6V6 power amplifier and 5Y3GT rectifier tube delivers the typical creamy, saturated overdrive that transitions into a wonderfully singing sustain at higher volumes. The factory-installed 8" Weber Signature Special Design Alnico speaker contributes significantly to the authentic vintage tone: warm mids, silky highs, and a pleasantly compressive feel when the volume is turned up. Thanks to the integrated, switchable power attenuator, the output power can be reduced so that the coveted power amp drive can also be achieved at moderate volumes – ideal for the studio, living room, or small sessions.A special highlight is the 1950s output tube bias tremolo, which works directly via the power amplifier and therefore sounds particularly smooth, organic, and pulsating. The intensity can be precisely controlled via the speed control, and a footswitch connection is also available.A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.Visually, the amp impresses with its classic tweed cover, brown-gold vintage-style grill cloth, black chicken head knobs, and a high-quality leather handle—a stylish homage to the Fender era of the 1950s.A compact, hand-wired boutique tweed combo with authentic vintage tone and practical enhancements, ideal for all kinds of blues, classic rock, and clean sounds.Technical specifications:Origin: Corona, CA, USAYear of manufacture: 2012Model: Fender EC Vibro-ChampPower: 5 wattsTubes: 2x12AX7 (preamp), 1x 6V6 (power amp) with 5Y3GT rectifier tubeSpeaker: 1x8" Weber Signature Special Design Alnico SpeakerChannels: 1Inputs: 2 (High/Low)Effects processor: 1950s output tube bias tremolo with speed control and footswitch connectionControls: Volume, Speed, OutputRotary knobs: Black Chicken Head KnobsFinish: TweedFront grille: Vintage-style brown and goldHandle: Brown leatherWeight: 7.5kgSerial no.: AB 032296Includes dust cover, hangtagsThe Fender EC Vibro Champ is no longer manufactured and quite rare. The amp is in mint condition, extremely well maintained, and works perfectly.
