While the Japanese-made ESP instruments represent the very top of the range, the Deluxe Series, and particularly its Korean-made models, deserves special recognition. These are a long way from being simple "mid-range" guitars. The philosophy is genuinely professional, with a selection of high-end components, extremely meticulous craftsmanship and a design conceived for both the stage and the studio. The MH-1000NT BB is a superb demonstration of this philosophy. Its Black Satin finish, highlighted by spectacular Bold Silver Binding, immediately gives it the elegant yet aggressive and thoroughly professional character that defines the finest ESP instruments. The contrast between the satin black finish and the substantial silver binding gives this MH an absolutely remarkable presence: understated, modern and resolutely high-end.The construction is every bit as impressive as the aesthetics. Its Set-Thru construction provides remarkable continuity between the neck and body, creating an exceptionally smooth feel when moving into the upper register. The three-piece maple neck, combined with the Macassar ebony fingerboard, delivers the precision and rigidity sought by players accustomed to professional instruments. The Extra Thin U profile is particularly comfortable: fast, effortless and perfectly suited to modern playing, without ever giving the impression of a neck that is excessively thin or fragile. The MH-1000NT BB is also a guitar that immediately inspires confidence under the fingers. The 24 Extra Jumbo stainless steel frets are exceptionally comfortable and allow an extremely fluid playing experience, whether you're working on bends or modern playing techniques. The compound radius and particularly unobstructed upper-fret access further reinforce the feeling that this instrument has been designed first and foremost to be played — played fast, and played without restrictions. But it is obviously when you plug this ESP in that its true personality comes to life. The combination of Fishman Fluence Modern pickups is particularly successful: an Alnico model in the neck position and a Ceramic model at the bridge, both offering an impressive range of modern tones. You get the surgical precision, dynamics and incredible definition for which Fluence pickups are renowned, with enough power for the most demanding high-gain sounds while retaining excellent clarity in chords and complex rhythm work. And unlike many guitars that are heavily focused on metal, this MH is surprisingly versatile. The different voicings, accessed via the Push/Pull controls, allow you to move from an extremely powerful modern tone to more open and organic textures. This is precisely what makes this configuration so appealing: the guitar can deliver truly formidable high-gain sounds without becoming locked into a single musical style. The TonePros Locking TOM bridge with String-Thru-Body and LTD locking tuners complete the package perfectly. Everything conveys a sense of reliability and precision: excellent tuning stability, outstanding vibration transfer and the overall feeling of an instrument designed to withstand intensive use.The LTD MH-1000NT BB perfectly illustrates what has made the Korean Deluxe Series so successful: delivering a genuine professional-grade instrument experience without reaching the sometimes stratospheric prices of the most exclusive Japanese production. ESP has not simply created a visually spectacular guitar here; every aspect of this MH has been designed as a true stage and studio instrument.A superb high-end guitar that is exceptionally well designed, precise, fast and remarkably versatile. It will appeal equally to players looking for massive modern tones and guitarists seeking an instrument capable of delivering in every situation. A true ESP/LTD Deluxe, with the level of craftsmanship and quality components that make all the difference when you're looking for a guitar built to last and genuinely meant to be played.
