Electrical Guitar Company's Series Five model is a fan favorite. The asymmetrical offset began its life as a custom order, but so many players ordered one that the Series Five became part of EGC's Classic Line, which are all available with the company's aluminum or acrylic bodies.
In fact, so many orders came in for the guitars that EGC thought for sure someone had requested an acrylic-bodied Series Five. The company wrote on Instagram: "Somehow there’s never been an acrylic Series 5 made. I honestly thought there had been and I’m excited it exists now."
After a customer asked for an acrylic Series 5, EGC instead created two—one for that customer and another that it listed on the Electrical Guitar Company Reverb shop.
That guitar, featuring a tortoise pickguard, chrome hardware, and EGC's signature aluminum neck, is a real stunner to see. And with the RWRP high-gain single coil pickups, it's probably stunning to hear as well.
Unfortunately for the 52 of us that added it to our Watch Lists in the few days it was available, someone else bought it first. But we can still marvel at the pictures.
