We spent a day with Mr. Benson before launching The Official George Benson Reverb Shop, where he is parting with some of the greatest guitars in collection, including the Gibson Johnny Smith he used to record his career-defining hit, "Breezin'."
Turns out, George is a gem of a human, and he regaled us with tons of stories about his most prized guitars in collection, like D'Aquistos hand-built by the nephew of John D'Angelico, a Gibson L5-CES once owned by his hometown jazz hero Jerry Byrd, and a Wes Montgomery tribute model made in the style of that most famous L5-slinging guitarist.
George also talked about the development of his Ibanez signature models: including the GB-10, GB-20, and the many variants and custom models of each that he's played over the three decades he's worked with the company.
Bask in the sonorous tone of George's voice and music by watching the full collection video above.
