Korg Goes Big With the Wavestate SE

Korg’s Wavestate synth—which builds off the legacy of the classic Wavestation—just got a 61-key upgrade.

Originally previewed alongside the Drumlogue, MiniKorg 700 FS, and Arp 2600 M during NAMM’s 2021 virtual show, the Wavestate SE is long-awaited update now ready for primetime.

Wavestate SE Platinum & Wavestate SE

The Wavestate SE’s Main Features

Complete with aftertouch, reinforced body, and numerous quality-of-life improvements, the new Wavestate SE feels like the team at Korg took synth enthusiast feedback to heart and worked to deliver an evolution that not only plays but looks good.

To celebrate the release, a limited-edition platinum SE has also hit the market as a Reverb-exclusive, which retains all the same features but with premium silver aluminum panel and stainless steel side panels.

The Wavestate SE’s specs, according to Korg, include:

  • Keyboard: 61-key natural touch keyboard, velocity, and channel aftertouch support
  • Synthesizer: Wave Sequencing 2.0, 120 stereo voices, 261 performances, 799 programs, and 1042 Wave Sequences
  • Performance: 4 layers, reverb, EQ
  • Layers: Program, Arpeggiator, Key and Velocity Zones
  • Programs: Wave Sequence, Filter, Amp, Pre FX, Mod FX, Delay
  • Controllers: Mod wheel, PITCH wheel, Vector Joystick, Mod Knobs 1-8, VALUE knob, 15 additional knobs for detailed editing
