This is a two-in-one device which allows you to connect any low-impedance balanced or unbalanced output, to any unbalanced hi-z input, OR isolate two line-level connections from each other, OR convert an unbalanced line signal to balanced.
1) The reamp box is useful in such scenarios as hooking your audio interface up to a guitar amp for the purpose of "re-amping" your tracks, running vocals through a guitar amp, connecting a keyboard to an amp, or even using guitar pedals as effects in your DAW.
Inside is an impedance matching transformer, a control for signal attenuation, and a ground lift switch, to prevent hum and interference between devices. This allows for the highest ratio of signal-to-noise, while maintaining the integrity of your sound.
2) The second output allows you to bypass the reamp circuitry and utilize the internal isolation transformer. This is useful in snuffing out ground hum problems or converting an unbalanced signal to balanced. The ground lift switch is still active in this configuration.
Another useful trick with the line-level option of this device is to run your mix through it. The internal transformer will impart a nice warm analog sound, which only a real transformer can provide. Great for imparting a genuine analog feel to vocals, guitars, bass, or drums.
Hand wired point-to-point in Winnipeg MB Canada.
This is a completely passive device and does not require batteries or external power to operate.
*Note* Pedal building is a hobby for me. All of my items are handmade unless otherwise stated. As a result, they may have tiny dings or small surface scratches due to the manufacturing process (clamping for drilling, etc) or other artifacts such as pencil lines from marking drilling locations. I do my best to take quality pictures in order to accurately represent the condition of my items listed. Some select parts, such as transistors, opamps, or diodes, may vary from the ones used by the original manufacturer. This is usually due to the scarcity of vintage semiconductors. I try my best to use equivalent parts whenever originals are not available and hand test them with either a vintage RCA WT-501A, B&K 520B, or B&K 530 transistor tester. All of my pedals run on a standard boss-style 9vDC center-negative external power adapter, unless otherwise stated. If you have any questions about a specific item, please don't hesitate to ask.
Happy shopping,
