Here's another cult classic snare that has been the secret weapon snare of studio drummers for years. Basically, the drum is steel shelled 3.5x14, nothing new here, but with 12 tuning lugs. 12 lugs allow for more precise tuning and the additional mass on the shell reduces the high-end pingy overtone normally associated with steel shells. You end up with a nicely focused and crisp sounding snare.
