1-3/4″ width at nut

This 1977 S. Yari Dreadnought is a great take on Martin’s D-18. It has great punch and nice low action. Spruce top with Mahogany back, sides, and “C” profile neck.

The Rosewood peghead overlay has a a “S. Yari” decal at the top, and a tortoise truss rod cover above the bone nut. “S. Yairi” branded nickel tuners. The “C” profile Mahogany neck is shaped nicely with not much wear. Rosewood fingerboard with graduated pearl dot inlays and side dot position markers. Ebony heelcap. Gold strap button installed.

The Sitka Spruce top has some finish checking and a few dings from player wear, but it does not appear to have any cracks or previous crack repairs. Ebony bridge with rosewood bridge pins. Black plastic pickguard, black binding on the top edge of the Spruce top. The Mahogany back and sides are in nice shape with general button scratches and a few light dings from player wear.

This 1977 S.Yairi is a great flatpicking dreadnought that is also affordable for how it sounds and plays. Comes with a chipboard case.
This guitar would compete favorably with most D-18’s built from 1970 to about 2008. It has REAL GOOD tone and a snappy delivery.

*Mr S. Yairi is well known to guitar aficionados who were collecting guitars in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Mr Sado Yairi and his brother, Mr Kazuo Yairi, both built strong reputations as master Guitar Luthiers in the 1960’s, ’70’s and ’80’s.
