Discrete + handwired: Built around the classic two-transistor fuzz architecture, with serviceability and consistent assembly standards in mind.
Transistors: BC107B (silicon): BC107/108/109 are closely related TO-18 metal-can NPN silicon transistors; the “B” suffix indicates a gain group, helping target a more consistent operating range (final feel still depends on pairing and bias).
Artwork: “Flower Child” graffiti: A dedicated hand-painted “Flower Child” artwork—an intentional nod to late-’60s psychedelic / rock aesthetics. Minor variation is normal with hand painting.
Stable and immediate: Silicon versions are typically more stable, with a clearer edge, brighter top, and higher available gain than germanium versions.
Core behavior: guitar-volume cleanup: Rolling back the guitar volume to move from full fuzz toward edge-of-breakup textures is a signature player technique.
Chain placement: Fuzz Faces are highly sensitive to input loading/buffers. They are commonly best placed early in the chain; a buffer before it may change the feel and cleanup behavior.
9V DC, center-negative polarity (negative ground)
