The D-42 was introduced in 1996 and departs slightly from the pre-war style OOO-42.
This guitar is early in the run and dates around 1998/99.
They just don’t make them like this anymore and the played in feel is unbeatable.
Stunning guitar, probably one of the finest models Martin ever released.
Indian Rosewood back & sides, scalloped braces, X brace 1” from the sound hole.
Snowflake inlay on the bridge ends, grained ivoroid binding.
Style 45 snowflake inlays from 1st fret, Gold plated open back tuners with “butterbean” buttons.
Next to a pre-war OOO-42 things don’t get much better, but if your reading this you already know that.
Stunning guitar, I moan about a lot of modern and cheep Martins to my customers, but this model has always made me eat my hat.
Can’t fault them.
Honestly, simply stunning to look at and unbelievable to play.
Truly sings.
But don’t take my word for it, pop in and try it out.
