Up for sale, a 1985 Yamaha BX-1 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Heavily inspired by the distinctive headless design of the Steinberger bass, released just a few years prior, this Japanese-made Yamaha had a relatively brief production run (1985-89). Unlike many other headless designs, the BX-1 is notable for its usage of conventional ball end strings.

Featuring five-ply maple/mahogany neck through construction, nato body wings, and a slab striped ebony fretboard, this BX-1 has offers rich, robust low end with a slightly scooped midrange and great upper frequency definition. The bridge pickup is focused and throaty, with expansive depth at the neck. The push/push coil tap at the Tone knob enables sweet growl and punch, accentuated by the 45-105 roundwound strings. This BX-1 weighs 7lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.
