Carl Thompson Semi Frills 4s
"Semi Frills 38” scale 4-string. It features a single pickup, maple top, mahogany back, cedar center block, zebra wood, lacewood, and some walnut.
Carl Thompson has been building instruments since 1974 at the rate of about ten or so per year. He has made instruments for such greats as Stanley Clarke, Anthony Jackson and most notably, Les Claypool of Primus.
This 2017 "Semi Frills 38” scale 4-string model features a single pickup, maple top, mahogany back, cedar center block, zebra wood, lacewood, and some walnut according to Carl. As time goes by, less and Les of these instruments are being built each year. (see what I did there?) Don't miss your chance to own one the best basses ever crafted... and definitely one of the best ones I've ever been lucky enough to play myself.
