This instrument isstamped "used" on the back of the headstock and given a new serialnumber by the manufacturer-authorized refurbisher. Why? It was deemed tohave a cosmetic imperfection or to need a repair. Check the description to seeexactly why this instrument is considered refurbished. The Ovation Elite AX line offers all the amenities of its upper-class LX cousins at a price that’s much easier to shell out. The Elite 2078AX features a solid AA spruce top with Ovation’s multi-soundhole design, supported by Ovation’s top-of-the-line LX bracing design to get maximum energy out of the top. The deep contour body sits comfortably while delivering big, balanced tone. The guitar fills out a room nicely and is particularly suited for plugging into a PA thanks to Ovation’s long-standing history of cutting edge pickups and electronics.

This particular instrument has a light, 1/4" long scratch in the clearcoat between the cutaway and the lower soundhole epaulettes. This is only visible when caught at just the right angle under the glare of bright lighting. We have done our best to point it out in an included close-up photo. There are a couple of spots on the bridge where the finish stain has slightly varying amounts of reflective gloss, again only visible at certain angles. But we have included close-up photos of this as well! Aside from what we have described, the guitar is in mint condition. It still even has the factory plastic film over the tuner display!

How Does It Play?

This guitar has received a nice professional setup and is ready to play! The neck is straight, the saddle and nut slots are the proper height and the guitar plays beautifully at 3/32" on the low E at the 12th fret and 2/32" on the high E. Ovation is known for low, fast action and easy playability, and this guitar is certainly no exception.

The Ovation molded hard case pictured is brand new and included, along with the case key and guitar truss rod wrench. It provides excellent yet lightweight protection for your new Ovation guitar!
